Dr Dre Promises "Detox Album" in 08!

Iconic hip-hop producer Dr. Dre has finally given his long-awaited Detox album some life by speaking on its possible release date and the reason behind its nine year delay.

“I’m just now—over the last couple of months—starting to feel that it’s going to be right and it’s something I can be proud of, and everybody is going to love it,” Dre said. “In a perfect world, I’m shooting for a November or December release.”
Despite having to follow-up to his critically acclaimed albums The Chronic and The Chronic 2001, Dre confessed to never planning on making instant classics, but allowing the music to speak for itself.
“I’ve never set out to do that,” he said. “I just make the music feel the way I want it to feel and I don’t put it out until I’m totally happy with it. Then it does what it does.”
While details are still scarce on what the album will have to offer, the Aftermath head promised “an entirely new thing going with the drums that’s incredible” along with guest appearances from hip-hop heavy weights Nas, Jay-Z, and Lil’ Wayne

Damn! Dre is on swole! I cant wait for this album and it better be on point. Hopefully it will be another Dre classic like the Chronic!

Kanye West And Choose Or Lose Give Young Veterans A Surprise 'Homecoming'West and MTV's Sway visit returning vets and give them life-changing gifts on upcoming special, which airs July 28 at 10 p.m. ET.

Young veterans returning from the war in Iraq face a host of difficult challenges, from re-acclimating to civilian life to dealing with unpaid bills and the hard memories of war. In an upcoming MTV News special, "Choose or Lose & Kanye West Present: Homecoming," the Chicago MC and MTV's Sway Calloway give returning veterans the surprise of their lives during home visits where they listen to the soldiers' stories and express gratitude for their service.
The one-hour special, which airs July 28 at 10 p.m. ET, will feature West and Calloway dropping in unexpectedly at the homes of some Iraq war veterans and seeing firsthand the often difficult and painful challenges the young vets face after returning home.
"There are hundreds of veterans out there who are falling through the cracks. They make the ultimate sacrifices for us by laying down their lives, but it seems like a lot of them just get forgotten about," West said. "I know my music inspires and helps a lot of people, but you can always do more. I teamed up with MTV and took the opportunity to share the spotlight with these veterans and hear their stories. I went to their homes to listen and get their firsthand experiences. I wanted to hear their stories."

After the judge in 50 Cent’s child custody drama case recently ordered both 50 and his baby mama Shaniqua to take drug tests, both of theirs came back negative for ILLEGAL drugs. Shaniqua did have opiates that she said were from cough syrup that showed up on her test. This means that 50 may get more time with his son Marquise like he asked for and he is able to take him on vacation now.

Bat Man Knocks Out Spider Man.....

The Dark Knight crushed all weekend competition with a record breaking $155.3 million debut!

According to The New York Times, this latest installment to the Batman series edged last year’s record holder, Spider-Man 3, which had an opening weekend profit of $151.1 million. Despite high expectations on the film’s box office performance, the numbers even surprised Warner Bros executives.
“It just took on a life of its own,” Dan Fellman admitted, Warner Bros’ president for theatrical distribution. “You never expect anything like this.”
Although combined three-day sales outdid competition like last year’s Spider-Man 3, it was theaters’ initiative to exclusively feature midnight and early-morning screenings of The Dark Knight, which helped overall sales. Friday ticket profits alone made up for $66.4 million including a surprisingly $18.5 million from the midnight showings.
An additional possibility for the film’s weekend success is based on its partial usage of Imax cameras. Opening in nearly 100 Imax screens throughout the United States with $6.2 million in ticket sales, The Dark Knight beat previous Imax record holder, Spider-Man 3, which had banked $4.7 million last year.
Fellman also added the film’s success over last year’s Spider-Man movie is based on their release dates. Spider-Man 3 opened in early May as compared to the mid-summer release of The Dark Knight, which had the edge from kids on summer breaks.

The Game may not be retiring after all if Ice Cube can do anything about it. My sources in close to Cube’s camp tell me The Game is close to joining the Westside Connection. As, I recently stated Mack 10 and Cube have fallen way out of favor. They are NOT homies anymore. Cube has reportedly stated that after the release of his new album, Raw Footage, he will get to work on a new Westside Connection with a new member. The Game is in. Mack 10 is out, I’ve been told. To further fuel this, on Cube’s new album, there is a track called “Get Use to It” Featuring The Game and WC. The Game was also featured on WC’s album last album Guilty by Affiliation. I think it’s pretty clear what is going to happen after the release of Game’s LAX and Cube’s Raw Footage.

I was at Power House 08' recently and something is all starting to make sense to me. The Game Showed up and Mac 10 left. It looks like its either about to go down or is going down over at the Dr. Dre household. It seems that the legendary hit-making producer and his daughter Manaj are not seeing things eye to eye and now shes airing out the somewhat reclusive producer in a new documentary.
The documentary is called Daddy's Shadow and it's a feature-length documentary centered on Manaj's quest to break into the music industry despite her legendary multi-millionaire father's objections and lack of support.There's been no public reaction from Dr. Dre as of yet. Let's see what happens.

One of Jimi Hendrix's favorite guitars, set alight on a London stage more than 40 years ago and thought to have been lost forever, is to be auctioned later this year. The guitar, a 1965 Fender Stratocaster, was famously doused with lighter fuel and set alight by the rock legend during a one-off performance at London's Finsbury Astoria in March 1967. Hendrix had to be rushed to hospital with minor burns to his hands after the stunt, and the guitar, slightly damaged along the neck and pickboard, was recovered by his staff. It eventually ended up in the hands of his press officer, Tony Garland, who stored it in his parents' garage, where it remained until it was unearthed last year by Garland's nephew. The guitar is among a range of rock memorabilia to be auctioned by the Fame Bureau in London on September 4th. It has an estimate of 500,000 pounds ($999,000). Other lots include The Doors frontman Jim Morrison's last notebook of poems. "When Hendrix set this guitar alight it marked a watershed in live performance," said Ted Owen, director of acquisitions at the auction house. "He raised the bar of what could be expected and paved the way for a series of imitations and pastiche that exist to this day." Hendrix, who died in 1970, burnt two guitars on stage - he repeated the stunt at a festival later in 1967 - but the one to be auctioned is the only example that survives intact. A previous auction of a Hendrix guitar, known as the Woodstock Stratocaster, fetched $1.8 million.

A Grad Student in New York decided it would be a good idea to don a t-shirt that read "Obama is My Slave" and walk down the streets of New York. You know what happened next. She encountered some Obama fans and they let her know what they thought about her new shirt. That girl is probably still washing spit out of her hair. But anyway, she decided that her fashion felony was not her fault and may be suing the designer she bought the shirt from. I'm really going to need her to forget about the doctorate and invest in a red helmetimmediately.

Kanye West $ N.E.R.D. Tapped for Democratic National Convention

Hip-Hop superstars Kanye West, Wyclef Jean, and N.E.R.D. have been tagged to perform at the Democratic National Convention next month.

According to The Washington Post, the convention will take place in Denver, Colorado, as the trio will be hitting the stage in support of presidential candidate Barack Obama.
Wyclef has also been known for his humanitarian contributions as he was named ambassador for Haiti earlier this year. Various hip-hop artists like Young Jeezy, Common, and the Black Eyed Pea’s will.i.am have publicly displayed support for Obama.
Other celebrities expected to make appearances are Ed Norton, Forest Whitaker, Scarlett Johansson, Warren Beatty and Ben Affleck.
The Democratic National Convention begins on Monday, August 25.

Nate Dogg Pleads Not Guilty in Stalking Case

Nate Dogg appeared in a Compton court yesterday to plead not guilty to felony charges related to his arrest last month for allegedly threatening his estranged wife.
Nate rolled into the court room in a wheel chair. The one-time go to man for rap hooks was left partially paralyzed after the stroke he suffered six months ago, according to E! Online.

he’s looking at two felony counts of making criminal threats, a stalking charge and a misdemeanor for driving on a suspended license when he was cuffed in previous DUI.
The 38-year-old was hauled in on June 23 after the California Highway Patrol fielded a 911 call from his wife who identified herself only as Latoya C., claiming that he was chasing her on an L.A. freeway.
Nate Dogg would have been released on $50,000 bond, but Compton Superior Court Commissioner Joel Wallenstein upped the amount to $100,000 this morning, so Nate had to be held in lieu of the balance. It was paid, however and he was allowed to go home.
He’ll be back in court August 1 where it will be decided whether the charges will result in an actual trial.
